The Montauk Point Lighthouse is the first lighthouse built in New York State and the fourth oldest active lighthouse in the United States. The Second Congress, under President George Washington, authorized its construction in 1792.

The light flashes every 5 seconds and can be seen from a distance of 19 nautical miles. Its beam is cast across the water with the power of 2,500,000 candles.

Established in 1875, The Roslyn Savings Bank was the first financial institution to be headquartered in Nassau County, New York. Its founders wanted to build a bank that would provide Long Island residents with a safe place for their savings and the financial assistance they needed to build or purchase their homes.

Today, Roslyn Savings Bank is the third largest thrift depository on Long Island, with 32 traditional branches, 23 in-store branches, a customer service center, and fifty 24-hour ATM locations. A member of the NYCB Family of Banks since October 31, 2003, Roslyn Savings Bank is the largest of our divisions in the Metropolitan New York region, with 56 branch locations serving customers in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
